Municipal solid waste is segregated, shredded, and dried to extract the combustible fraction. This forms Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) fluff, which has a higher calorific value and is suitable for clean combustion.
RDF fluff is fed into a special boiler furnace or gasifier (synthesizer). The controlled combustion/gasification process produces intense heat while minimizing emissions.
The generated heat converts limited water into high-pressure steam, which drives a steam turbine generator. Use of air-cooled condensers and dry.
